They like him almost as much as they like the Knicks.
As hoops fans flooded the city to celebrate the team’s win over the San Antonio Spur on Saturday night, Jon Stewart got a little love too.
Stewart and his wife, Tracey, pulled up to a red light in front of Monster Bar in the West Village amid the festivities, and we’re told a euphoric fan seized the opportunity.
Chelsea mom Abby Grozenski ran up to his vehicle and thanked him for “everything you do!”
“You are a gem!” she screamed.
Grozenski told him they’d crossed paths before, we’re told, and said, “I love you and I am so glad I get to see you again because I almost told you the first time and I thought that would be weird.”
Stewart replied, “It’s a good weird,” we’re told as Tracey cracked up from the passenger seat.
Another fan shouted, “We f–king love you Jon Stewart! The Knicks just won! You’re a mensch!”
Stewart took a selfie from the window before the light changed and the crowd chanted, “Go Jon! Go Jon!” and then started singing Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
“It was a sweet moment to notice him getting his flowers,” Grozenski, who’s the founder of Woven Talent, told Page Six.
Meanwhile, Queen’s “Champions” wasn’t the only song fans sang to commemorate the occasion. Excited New Yorkers belted out Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” and the singer surprised guests with the real thing at the official Tribeca Festival after party.
The singer performed her hometown anthem in front of a crowd that included Natasha Lyonne, Angela Simmons, Lena Waithe, Jane Rosenthal and Jay-Z’s one-time hip hop nemesis Nas. Keys’ doc “Alicia Keys: Girl From Hell’s Kitchen” closed out the festival and the party was held at Capitale, which was transformed into an homage to Keys’ New York.
