A social media post from an A-list star had fans likening her appearance to a number of other celebrities.
‘I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul,’ the 44-year-old singer-actress captioned the post, which was set in a recording facility.
In the post, the star was clad in a black jacket over a beige silk top and skirt with a fishnet bodysuit and black cowboy boots with platforms and heels. She wore black eye makeup and pink lip gloss along with a black necklace.
The star had her trademark blonde locks styled differently than usual, cascading down the front and the side as she relaxed in a chair.
‘I don’t even recognize this person,’ one commenter said of the mystery celeb.
Others compared her appearance to other celebrities including Bravo star Kim Zolciak, 46; hotel heiress Paris Hilton, 43; and former White House adviser Ivanka Trump, 43.

The celebrity in question is Jessica Simpson, who appeared to be going back to her musical roots in the social media post Monday.
One user said of the image, ‘But, who is this, even? It doesn’t even look like Jessica Simpson;’ while another said they ‘would have never know this is Jessica Simpson.’
One user suggested, ‘This is a Jess Simpson body double.’ while another said, ‘Woah. You don’t look like jessica.’
One user openly doubted that it was actually Simpson in the picture posted under her handle to her 6.3 million followers.
‘That’s not even Jessica Simpson,’ the user said. ‘They just stay playing in our faces, smh.’
One fan, making reference to Zolciak’s past musical endeavors, wrote, ‘Does it feature your hit single “Tardy for the Party?”‘ referring to the cash-strapped reality star’s 2009 single.
Another user likened Simpson’s appearance to that of some of her famous neighbors in Calabasas, California: ‘I didn’t know there was a Jessica Kardashian.’
Another referenced President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter and one-time adviser, ‘I thought this was Ivanka Trump at first,’ while another said, ‘I thought this was Paris Hilton.’

One user mashed the aforementioned celebs together, writing, ‘Com’ on who the f*** is this ? Ivanka Hilton Kardashian? STOP your nonsense.’
One user suggested that the image was the result of digitally altering the image, saying, ‘Embrace getting older and start with this foolishness editing.’
Not all of the responses zeroed in on the apparently drastic changes Simpson has made to her appearance.
‘She seems healthy, happy, and free so maybe yall should just applaud her for living authentically and keep it moving,’ said one user.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga, 45, wrote, ‘I love your soul.’
Some users said that people who focused on Simpson’s appearance were missing the point of the post, as they rejoiced in her making new music.
Simpson has past had hits with 1999’s I Wanna Love You Forever, 2000’s I Think I’m in Love with You and 2003’s With You, among others.

Simpson’s post on Instagram was her first this month, amid reports that she and spouse Eric Johnson have separated.
Simpson wrote about her return to music in a November 11 Instagram post, saying she was back in her ‘Nashville music room where [she] unearthed [her] singular magic.’
She vowed, ‘This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.’
