In a shocking update, Sanoj Kumar Mishra, who offered a film to the viral Mahakumbh girl Monalisa Bhosle, has been arrested in a rape case. According to reports, a complaint has been filed against Mishra by a 28-year-old woman. The director’s plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court. As per the reports, a woman accused Sanoj Mishra of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 2021. As reported by India Today, the woman stated that she allegedly met Sanoj through TikTok and Instagram in 2020 when she was in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. According to the woman, Mishra threatened her with suicide and forced her to meet him. The duo reportedly met on June 18, 2021, where he took her to a resort.
The woman alleged that Sanoj drugged and sexually assaulted her. He also took her objectionable photos and videos and often used them to blackmail him. Mishra manipulated the woman by promising her marriage and opportunities to work in movies. He even forced her into a live-in relationship in Mumbai and often assaulted her and made her undergo abortions thrice.
When Sanoj Mishra abandoned the woman in February 2025, he threatened to leak her private photos and videos. The woman then filed a complaint against him and an FIR was registered against him, accusing him of rape, assault, causing miscarriage and criminal intimidation. The woman’s statement was registered under Section 164 CrPC and medical records confirmed that forced abortions were followed.
Meanwhile, Sanoj Mishra had cast Kumbhmela viral girl Monalisa in his movie. He was often seen with her ever since she went viral on social media. The director had even visited the girl’s house and took her to Nepal during Maha Shivratri for an event. Monalisa is yet to react to the shocking update.
