Cyndi Lauper shot back at a heckler who interrupted her onstage during the first night of her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.
While she was introducing one of her songs, a man in the crowd yelled something that was unintelligible in the footage that has surfaced online.
‘I don’t know what the f*** you’re saying, hon,’ said the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun hitmaker. ‘Please remember where you are, okay? ‘Cause if you’re trying to shade me, b****, I’m gonna come for you. I’m from Brooklyn.’
Her response was met with an explosion of applause from the rest of the audience who had gathered Friday to listen to the 72-year-old songstress.
‘And if I wanna f***in’ talk, I will do a tap dance if I f***in’ want. Sorry. That, of course, is not part of my people’s skills course,’ she joked.
Lauper then returned to her setup to Sally’s Pigeons, a 1993 song about a childhood friend of hers who died as a result of a back-alley abortion.

She began her Las Vegas residency Friday at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace and will continue to perform there through next Saturday, May 2.
Her dates include shows this Saturday, as well as next Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with tickets still available for all the coming concerts.
She plugged the show in a bubbly Facebook video she posted Thursday, telling fans: ‘We’re in Vegas. I can’t believe it! We’re here!’
Lauper teased a ‘couple of surprises in the show, but you have to come and see it. I’m not gonna tell you. I’m excited! Come on down! It’ll be a night of Cyn! C-Y-N, yeah.’
Her current engagement comes on the heels of her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, which ran from October 2024 through last August.
She began the tour in Montreal and whirled through a total of 69 cities in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan before finishing up at the Hollywood Bowl.
Early in the tour, she came in for online mockery over a viral clip of her with blue hair and a silver outfit dancing onstage to her 1985 song The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough.
One viewer wrote: ‘WTF happened to Cyndi Lauper?’ as another grumbled: ‘She’s 71 for heaven’s sake. Quit already. You’re embarrassing yourself.’

Others sprang to her defense with such retorts as: ‘The same thing that will happen to you, age’ and: ‘Dude, she’s 71 years old. I hope I’m hopping around like that at 71.’
Her brace of shows at the Hollywood Bowl were filmed for a CBS and Paramount+ special entitled A GRAMMY Salute to Cyndi Lauper: Live from the Hollywood Bowl.
‘It wasn’t nerve-wracking that it was being filmed, but it does add a layer that takes you out of the moment,’ she reflected to the Recording Academy.
‘There were a lot of places that we did not get to bring the Farewell Tour to, so I hope that this can make up for that. I want to share this moment with as many people as possible,’ added the All Through the Night singer.
