Boxing trainer to the stars Martin Snow — who counts Kit Harington, Ansel Elgort and Leah McSweeney among his celebrity sparring partners — told Page Six he was viciously attacked by an aspiring influencer inside his Financial District gym.
Superhero-obsessed Instagrammer Benjamin Hardy was arrested after breaking Snow’s nose in a scuffle on Monday afternoon, and one of Snow’s staff also spent a night in the cells over the bust-up.
The longtime owner of Trinity Boxing Club says Hardy, manosphere influencer Sonny Faz and a third man came into the Vesey
Street gym around 1 p.m., hoping to film content for their social media channels.
But Snow says that when he told them they couldn’t use his gym as a film set, Hardy head-butted him, breaking his nose and sending him to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Hardy claims he only lashed out because “four guys” were “holding him down.” He declined to comment further without speaking to a lawyer.
When we asked Snow why he didn’t fight back, the 1985 Golden Gloves super-heavy- weight finalist told us, “I would have destroyed him. I can’t hit him.”
The NYPD told us that Hardy was arrested for assault and criminal trespassing. He’s already been arraigned and pleaded not guilty to both charges, according to documents reviewed by Page Six.
Snow, who founded the gym in 1997, became a familiar face to Bravo fans when he appeared on “The Real Housewives of New York City” as McSweeney’s boxing coach.
The boxer tells us that when one of his gym’s longtime trainers heard the melee, “he smacked one of the guys.”
That trainer was also arrested and spent the night at the local precinct. Faz did not respond when Page Six reached out for comment. We couldn’t reach the third man in their group.
