At just 14 years old, Blue Ivy Carter has made her Met Gala debut.
Hitting the Met Gala red carpet 2026 alongside famous parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the teen made a statement all her own.
For the high-fashion event, Blue wore a cream bubble-hem strapless gown by Balenciaga that boasted a structured bustier top.
She added sculptural gold glittery heels that matched her mom’s embellished skeleton-inspired dress. For more bling, she accessorized with a diamond riviere necklace, rings and a hand chain.
She added a cropped bomber jacket to match that she wore just off her shoulders as well as cateye sunglasses.
Blue is one of the youngest people to ever attend the event — and recent rules state that attendees must be at least 18 years of age to attend.
In 2018, Maddie Ziegler told The Hollywood Reporter that she “can’t go because I’m not old enough” at the time. Event organizers told the outlet that “it’s not an appropriate event for people under 18.”

They clarified that exceptions would be made for those accompanied by their parents. And clearly an exception was made for Carter, whose mom was a co-chair of the event alongside Nicole Kidman, Lauren Sánchez Bezos and — of course — Anna Wintour.
Carter wasn’t the only one for whom an exception was made, however, as Kidman’s daughter Sunday Rose Urban (at 17 years old) also stood by her mom’s side.
When speaking with Vogue on the red carpet, Beyoncé shared, “She looks so beautiful. It’s incredible to be able to share it with her.”
Carter is, of course, no stranger to the limelight, as she just finished touring with her mom during “Cowboy Carter,” at moments also alongside her grandmother Tina Knowles and younger sister Rumi.
The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Costume Art,” which called forth the dress code “Fashion is Art.”
Though Carter’s look isn’t specifically reminiscent of any piece of art of sculpture, she looked fabulous all the same.
“She was ready! She is ready,” added Beyoncé.
