Billy Ray Cyrus is sending a message amid the back-and-forth family drama surrounding his health.

“Sunday callin. Giving thanks for the California Rain,” Cyrus, 63, wrote via YouTube Shorts on Sunday, January 26. “Praying for the brokenhearted and their pain. Praying for my family. For my children … sons and daughters…and their mother. Let this moment be the start of healing ❤️‍🩹 for us all. ‘The past does not equal the future.’ Amen 🙏🏼.”

Alongside the message, Cyrus shared a music video set to his tune “Somebody Said a Prayer.”

The upload came days after Billy Ray’s son Trace Cyrus alleged in a lengthy Instagram statement that the singer was “not healthy.” Billy Ray did not address Trace’s post at the time. (Billy Ray adopted Trace, 35, and his sister Brandi Cyrus after he married their mom, Tish Cyrus, in 1992. Tish, 57, and Billy Ray welcomed children Miley Cyrus, Braison Cyrus and Noah Cyrus before divorcing in 2022. Billy Ray also shares son Christopher Cyrus with ex Kristin Luckey.)

Braison, 30, later claimed that Billy Ray was both “healthy” and “happy” before sharing hours later that he would be producing his dad’s next album.

Seemingly in response to Braison’s claims, Trace suggested that neither Braison nor Billy Ray are doing well. “Birds of a feather, flock together,” Trace wrote via his Instagram Story. “This is what healthy looks like. Braison, I can help you too. Damn, man up boys.”

Trace went on to share another public message for Billy Ray. “Dad, my message was beyond loving. I could have been extremely honest about a lot more, but I don’t want to put your business out there like that,” Trace wrote via Instagram on Saturday, January 25. “But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace. Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment, I can assure you.”

Trace continued, “You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you, but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel. I’m not. Get help.”

It is not clear what type of “legal action” Billy Ray was allegedly considering against Trace. Us Weekly reached out for comment at the time.

Trace claimed that he learned of the alleged legal threat from an unnamed “family member.”

“For all of you wondering, no, I still haven’t heard from my dad,” Trace claimed via his Instagram Story on Saturday. “He did contact a family member to let me know he’s taking legal action against me for encouraging him to get help.”

Trace, who shared that the “last good day” he had with Billy Ray was during a Father’s Day visit in 2022, added, “Dad, I live 30 minutes away from you. You could’ve just come and talked to me like a man.”
