Popular television star Amar Upadhyay has been ruling a million hearts with his performances in various shows. Amar is well-known as Mihir Virani from Ekta Kapoor’s show Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He is currently seen in Doree 2. As per recent reports in India Forums, the actor is planning to quit the show due to his dates not being utilized. If reports are to be believed then, the possibility of the actor’s date not being called is due to his hefty take-home fees after being promised 15 days a month work log.

Earlier, Bombay Times reported that Amar lost on a big show due to his work commitment with Doree 2. A source closely associated with the show informed India Forums that Amar was approached for Rahil Azam’s character Parag’s role in Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa. Due to his commitment to Doree 2, he lost out on Anupamaa.

“Amar was approached for Anupamaa and the makers were really interested on having him on board. But since his dates were not free, he lost the show. This may have also irked him as even after losing out on Anupamaa, his dates in Doree 2 were still underutilized and as a result of this, he decided to quit the show”, said the source.

Amar Upadhyay reprised his role as Ganga Thakur in Doree which premiered on January 21, 2025. The actor has not been shooting much since the launch of the second season in December and only shot for a day in February as per report in ETimes.

As per reports, the channel and the makers of Doree 2 are trying their best to mend things with Amar and want him back on the sets. On the work front, Amar appeared in Hansal Mehta’s web series Scoop. He played a supporting role in the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which also starred Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, and Kiara Advani. The film emerged as a blockbuster at the box office and earned Rs 265.5 crore worldwide.
