Abbey Holmes is expecting her second child with husband Keegan Brooksby.

The Channel Seven sports presenter shared the happy news on Instagram, revealing the newest member of the family is due in January 2027.

Holmes posted the announcement alongside her husband and their young son Braxton.

‘Soon to be 4… Keegs, Braxxy & I are so excited to let you all know that we are growing our family, expecting another beautiful little baby to join us in Jan 2027!’ she wrote.

‘We feel incredibly lucky to be in this position and can’t wait for Brax to become a big brother – he’s going to nail it! Xx,’ she added.

Holmes and Brooksby became parents for the first time when they welcomed Braxton in June last year.

They had announced that pregnancy on New Year’s Day in 2025.

The couple’s expanding family marks another joyful chapter for two prominent figures in Australian football.

Holmes was part of Adelaide’s inaugural AFLW side before building a successful television career following her retirement from the game.

She is now a regular contributor to Seven’s AFL coverage.

The former footballer returned to broadcasting just seven weeks after Braxton’s birth, determined to demonstrate that women could pursue their careers while embracing motherhood.

Although the decision attracted criticism from a small number of social media users, Holmes defended the move and said her work remained an important and fulfilling part of her life.

‘I think my work for me, it’s so important. I genuinely love what I do. It doesn’t feel like work in any way shape or form,’ Holmes told 7NEWS.com.au at the time.

‘There’s certainly a small minority of people out there that feel that they have the right to tell you what you should be doing and how things are to be done, which is never the case.’

Holmes said she was grateful to have the support needed to combine her television commitments with caring for a newborn.

Brooksby also enjoyed a career at the highest level of Australian rules football, playing as a ruckman for Gold Coast, West Coast and Hawthorn.

He has since moved into football administration and was appointed Hawthorn Football Club’s General Manager of AFLW last year.

In the role, Brooksby oversees the Hawks’ women’s football program.
