Studio Ghibli fans, don’t miss the Cat Bus!
Immersive exhibition The Story of Studio Ghibli is making its world premiere at Gardens by the Bay’s West Lawn on Dec 18, and tickets are now on sale, organisers M Experience announced on Saturday (Sept 12).
It will span nearly 3,500 square metres, with 12 walk-through scenes inspired by beloved Studio Ghibli films including Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbour Totoro, The Boy and the Heron, and more.
Visitors can look forward to seeing a 3D recreation of the bathhouse from Spirited Away, Totoro waiting for the Cat Bus at the iconic bus stop from the film, and the Guchokipanya bakery from Kiki’s Delivery Service, among others.
“The Story of Studio Ghibli is not simply an exhibition to be viewed. It is an experience to be felt,” said Sean Lim, CEO of M Experience.
“Through 12 recreated immersive scenes inspired by iconic Studio Ghibli films, visitors will be invited to step into the stories themselves and connect with the emotions, values and imagination that continue to resonate across cultures and generations.”
Public admission begins on Dec 19, with tickets for locals priced at $29 for children (aged three to 12) and seniors (aged 65 and above), and $39 for adults.
For tourists, children and seniors are eligible for the $49 ticket concession while adults can purchase the $55 ticket.
All children aged two and below can enter free of charge. Tickets are available on Klook.
Each adult ticket purchased during the Early Bird period from Sept 12 to Dec 17 will include an exclusive limited-edition gift, while stocks last.
Klook is also offering a $48 No Face Fortune Coin Bundle which will include a pre-sale gift available for adult tickets.
The Story of Studio Ghibli will run daily from 10am to 7pm until July 4, 2027.
