Daiso will be shuttering its Kallang Wave Mall outlet as the shopping centre undergoes a major revamp.
The Japanese retailer announced the closure via social media on Friday (Aug 7), saying that the outlet’s last day of business will be on Aug 16.
“It is with deepest regret to inform you that Daiso Kallang Wave Mall will cease it’s operations from Aug 17 onwards,” they said.
Daiso did not disclose any reasons for the closure.
It mentioned that a brand-new outlet will be opening some time in September.
“While we are bidding farewell to this outlet, our journey doesn’t end here,” the post read.
Daiso did not disclose the location of this upcoming store or its exact opening date.
The Japanese retailer also thanked customers for their support and encouraged them to visit nearby outlets at Kallang Bahru, Capitol Singapore and Marina Square after the closure.

This is Daiso’s third store closure this year, with the retail chain shuttering its Sembawang Shopping Centre and 100AM outlets in April and January respectively.
It also relocated its Tampines 1 outlet to Century Square after 14 years of operations.
After the closure of the outlet at Kallang Wave Mall, the retailer will have a total of 32 outlets remaining in Singapore.
Kallang Wave Mall is currently undergoing a major revamp which is slated to be completed in 2028.
In addition to new retail options, future visitors will also be able to enjoy new and improved sports facilities in the mall.
