There aren’t as many horror movies streaming now as there were in the Halloween season, but there’s enough to get your scare on.
This month, contemporary horror films are making a strong showing, while a blast from the past is back.
Watch With Us has carefully selected the three great horror movies to watch on Hulu, HBO Max and Paramount + in January 2026.
Our picks include a horror comedy, a sci-fi/horror flick and a throwback horror thriller with some familiar faces.
‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ (2022)
I’m not sure if “hurricane parties” are really a thing, but Pete Davidson‘s David is hosting one in the horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies. Almost everyone at this secluded estate is affluent, except for Bee (Maria Bakalova). She’s out of place among the overgrown rich kids, even though her girlfriend, Sophie (Amandla Stenberg), is one of them.
In the context of the film, Bodies Bodies Bodies is a murder mystery game that the guests put on to pass the time as the storm rages outside. Nobody was actually supposed to die, but once one of the attendees is found dead, other victims follow soon after. Who’s picking off these guests one by one? Bee isn’t sure who she can trust, and she’s definitely losing faith in Sophie by the minute.
Bodies Bodies Bodies is streaming on HBO Max.
‘Event Horizon’ (1997)
The cult classic sci-fi/horror film Event Horizon is streaming this month, and it’s definitely on our watch list. This flick wasn’t appreciated during its theatrical run, but it’s been embraced by fans in the nearly three decades since its release. Laurence Fishburne leads the cast as S. J. Miller, the captain of a starship called the Lewis and Clark.
Years ago, the Event Horizon was an experimental ship created by Dr. William G. Weir (Sam Neill) that vanished without a trace. Now, the Event Horizon has been found, and the Lewis and Clark responds to its distress signal. What they find on the ship is their collective nightmares brought to life. Wherever the Event Horizon was, it’s brought back something unspeakably evil that can drive its victims insane. Before long, Miller, Weir and the rest of the crew find themselves trapped on the Event Horizon as their own fears threaten to destroy them.
Event Horizon is streaming on Paramount+.
‘It Feeds’ (2025)
Despite the similar name, It Feeds has nothing to do with It Follows. Instead, the “it” in the title of this film is something so insidious that Cynthia Winstone (Ashley Greene) doesn’t want to face it. Cynthia has genuine psychic powers that let her enter a person’s mind, and what she saw inside a young girl named Riley Harris (Shayelin Martin) chilled her to the bone.
There’s an entity feeding on Riley’s body and soul, and her father, Randall (Shawn Ashmore), seems determined to be unhelpful. Cynthia’s daughter, Jordan (Ellie O’Brien), won’t abandon Riley as her mother suggests. Jordan genuinely wants to help, but her course of action is so reckless that it leaves Cynthia with no other choice but to get back involved. Whatever they’re facing, it’s more powerful than anything Cynthia has seen before. She was right to be afraid, and confronting it may be the worst mistake she’s ever made.
It Feeds is streaming on Hulu.
