Zara McDermott’s secret struggle in relationship with Louis Tomlinson has been ‘revealed’ as it’s reported the Love Island star ‘can’t win’ with his ‘possessive’ fans.
The former Love Island star, 29, began dating the One Direction star, 34, last year following her split from Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson.
And she proved to be his biggest supporter as she travelled with him to Denmark for the latest leg of his world tour.
But Zara is reportedly facing ‘incessant’ trolling from Louis’ dedicated 1D fanbase and feels she ‘can’t win’ with them – despite being head over heels for the singer.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said Zara is stuck between a rock and a hard place as she is slammed for ‘following Louis around’ if she goes on tour with him or attacked for ‘not supporting him’ if she doesn’t.
She reportedly ‘can’t win’ with his fans, with the source adding: ‘She’s either accused of “following” Louis around the world or is slated for not being a supportive enough girlfriend.’

They went on to report the couple are head over heels for each other and Louis is extremely supportive of Zara, but his fans are ‘possesive’ and don’t think any girl is good enough to be with him.
‘Unfortunately for Zara, dating Louis comes with incessant trolling from fans who are vocal about their disdain online,’ they said.
Elsewhere the source added: ‘It’s hurtful and of course Zara would prefer it didn’t happen, but Louis is so supportive of her.’
Sharing a slew of snaps from a recent trip to Milan for Louis’ sold out show, Zara was met with cruel comments from trolls.
Some comments on the post read: ‘I’d be embarrassed if I were my boyfriend’s pet that follows him everywhere,’;
‘You don’t have a job? Why are you following Louis around lol,’; ‘do you have a proper job or is your job using louis for money?’
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Louis and Zara for comment.
It comes just weeks after Zara appeared emotional as she shared a snap on her Instagram stories of Louis on stage at the KB Hallen in Copenhagen, performing his third studio album How Did I Get Here?
Zara added a string of emojis to the picture which included red love hearts and crying emojis.
Louis’ tour kicked off in Hamburg, Germany, on 23 March and is scheduled to travel through Europe and North America before concluding in Australia in October.
And it looks like Zara is travelling around with him after revealing she couldn’t live without him on an Instagram Q and A.

When asked by a follower what the three things were she couldn’t live without, Zara was very straight to the point.
She penned: ‘I’d have to say my family, my friends and my bf of course!!!’
The former Love Island star began dating Louis in March 2025, with the couple jetting to the Caribbean after spending their first Christmas together.
It’s understood that Zara has moved into multi-millionaire Louis’s north London mansion, having initially moved back into her parents’ house after leaving the Fulham home she shared with ex-boyfriend Sam Thompson.
Louis dropped his album How did I Get Here? at the same time his One Direction bandmate Harry Styles released his single Aperture.
Taking to X ahead of the release, Louis appeared to be aware of the chart battle as he asked his 28.8million X followers for their ‘help cutting through the noise’.
He penned: ‘Going to need your help over the next few days to cut through the noise. Time to give this record the moment it deserves!’
Yet fans then took to the comments to ask the Lemonade singer if he was ‘throwing shade’ at his former bandmate Harry.
They wrote: ‘cut through the noise’ why do I feel like this is harry shade?; Is he trying to shade… Harry?; Oh Harry Styles when I catch you’.
