Zach Bryan was spotted on two dates in New York City this week, months after his publicly messy split with popular podcaster Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
The country crooner was seen by sources at Old Mates, the new three-story Australian pub at the South Street Seaport on Thursday night.
A spy told Page Six: “Zach Bryan came in with his local female friend and security.”
“Rumor was that they were on a date, and she’s Australian,” said the spy, who added that Bryan stayed at the venue for over an hour.
The source added that the “Something in the Orange” singer, 28, was also seen smoking cigarettes outside the pub that’s steps from Pier 17.
Bryan was out with the same Aussie beauty earlier this week, sources said, at Madison Square Garden.
On Tuesday, the pair was seen in photos obtained by Page Six headed into MSG on the same night the Knicks were playing the Golden State Warriors.
Bryan wore a blue blazer, a T-shirt and a ball cap, while the mystery woman was in a chic long black coat, wide-legged black denim pants and black shoes.
Bryan and LaPaglia’s allegedly tumultuous relationship ended last fall.
Last month, Bryan was reportedly in a heated confrontation at a West Village bar, according to TMZ, after he allegedly tried on a fellow patron’s Ray-Bans before quipping, “You’re gonna see some terrible things tonight,” and confronting another bar-goer he thought was recording him.
(Bryan’s rep did not comment on the incident at the time, and we previously reported that the singer’s friends had quickly interjected and got him out of the bar before things escalated. A rep also did not get back to us about his mystery date.)
This time around, things were more jovial, we hear.
Said a spy of the scene: “It was 100% a local Aussie pub turned into a heaving boiler room. Something from out the ‘Blade’ movie and a 4a.m. nightclub!”
Fueling the scene was hot Aussie DJ and producer Dom Dolla, who is playing Madison Square Garden on Mar. 8.
“There was shenanigans with Dom pouring beers and giving them out, handing out shots, clearing glasses, eating people’s counter meals on the bar. It was a huge scene!” said a witness.
Adding to the fun, the music maestro’s mum turned up!
“Dom’s mum just flew in to see him that night,” said a source. It turned out she wasn’t supposed to meet up with him on Thursday night, but, “A sweet story was that she wasn’t meant to see him, but her friends were taking her to dinner at [Old Mates] and she turned up, and it was his secret pop up.”
The source described the mother-son night as “very touching!”
The Post reported that stars including “Succession” actress Sarah Snook have already been flocking to the 10,000-square-foot Old Mates before it officially opened, with lines around the block.
We hear that Hugh Jackman is a partner in the project by Bluestone Lane creators Nick and Andy Stone, with Chinese Tuxedo’s Eddy Buckingham, and Aussie celebs like NBA star Patty Mills, surfer Mick Fanning, tennis star Ashleigh Barty, cricketer Pat Cummins and comedy duo Hamish & Andy.
