Zach Bryan clapped back at the “couch warriors” who have been attacking his friends online following his split from Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
“Also all you f–kn couch warriors attacking and belittling my friends on the internet because you’re assuming I have a girlfriend are weird as hell and should be studied for science,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories Thursday.
“Everyone wonders why I quit touring and don’t want to be attached to music anymore meanwhile you’re calling my friends ugly and harassing them?” the “Pink Skies” singer added.
“I’m not asking for sympathy but going for my -friends- is so low and so messed up? Apparently I’ve [had] four different girlfriends in like two weeks meanwhile my friends and me are just laughing and hanging out like we always have.”
Bryan, 28, stated that he didn’t have a girlfriend and doesn’t “plan on” having one but he loves his “normal friends” very much.
“Go give your attention and time to the literal city burning down and stop being so sad and fickle and childish through screens,” he wrote, referring to the devastating Los Angeles fires.
“Last thing I’ll ever say on this. Insane I even have to. You do not know me. You never will know me. Stop acting like you do.”
In a second slide, Bryan said he is allowed to “have love, laughter and good people” in his life.
“No matter how bad of a person you think I am, go ahead and come for me. I can take all the hatred because I’m not a child. But do not come for my friends who do nothing but love and care for me,” the country singer added.
“Everyone wants you to have fun and make great music but you guys are making it really hard to do that with my friends getting insulted and death threats every day.”
Due to the criticism he has received from fans, Bryan said he’s moving “closer to never being in the public eye again.”
The “Something In the Orange” crooner then told his followers that he didn’t need sympathy or advice on how to handle the backlash.
“I lost my mother, I’ve been in war zones and I’ve battled this whole fame thing for five years. Respectfully I don’t need your unsolicited advice,” he wrote.
In October 2024, Bryan confirmed he and LaPaglia, 25, called it quits after one year of dating.
After the split, the podcaster alleged Bryan was emotionally abusive throughout their relationship and even tried to control what she wore at times.
LaPaglia alleged she turned down a $12 million offer and a new place to stay in New York City for her to stay silent about her ex’s behavior.
LaPaglia and Bryan went public with their romance in July 2023.
