Recently, she served some chic airport looks as she returned to Mumbai with husband Vicky Kaushal after celebrating their third wedding anniversary away in the wilderness in Rajasthan. However, what everyone is wondering is apart from these rare sightings, Katrina has been away from the arc lights. Talking about her professional life, she last acted in Merry Christmas that released in January 2024. The film with Vijay Sethupathi won critical acclaim and accolades for Katrina’s performance. But ever since, the actress hasn’t announced any movie since then. It is not unheard of to see actresses make their family life a priority once they get married. There have been rumours time and again about Katrina Kaifs pregnancy as well. But what is the truth?
Dear fans of Katrina Kaif, before you lose hope of seeing your favourite dazzle and delight on the big screen, here’s an update for you. A source close to Katrina tells us that the actress has taken a deliberate break from films for a very valid reason, “Katrina has been busy the past couple of years with her ongoing projects. Even after marriage, she got caught up with her professional commitments, travelling often. It was pretty much the same with Vicky. But the past year, Katrina has set time aside for herself, to bask in her new life.”
But it is not like she isn’t working at all. “She is reading scripts and looking for something that is different and truly challenges as well as excites her. She is in no mood to rush into signing something just for the heck of being seen on the big screen,” reveals the source. This definitely speaks volumes about the actress’ conviction and proves that she isn’t insecure about her star position, despite being a part of the industry where it is widely believed, ‘jo dikhta hai wohi bikta hai.’
The source further shares that Katrina has also been busy taking her beauty brand Kay to newer highs, “She is a thorough businesswoman and is looking at ways to grow her brand and add new products and range to reach a wider consumer base.”
It can be recalled that Katrina Kaif was to star alongside Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra in a road trip film, Jee Le Zara, by Farhan Akhtar. However, the film hasn’t started rolling and doesn’t even have a date when it will go on floors. In fact, the continuous delay had even led to rumours that the ambitious film with three female A-listers had been shelved. However, Farhan has maintained that the film is delayed due to date issues and there is nothing else stopping it from seeing the light of day. Alia Bhatt too reiterated in one of her recent interviews that all the stakeholders involved in the making of Jee Le Zara have the intent but bringing everyone together is becoming an issue due to date clashes.
