Michelle Trachtenberg died on Feb. 26, leaving behind a long-term boyfriend.
The actress was dating talent agent and producer Jay Cohen when she went into cardiac arrest and died in her New York City apartment at the age of 39.
Trachtenberg had recently received a liver transplant, sources told The Post.
Her official cause of death is not yet known, but it is not being investigated as suspicious.
The “Harriet the Spy” star was first linked to Cohen in 2020, according to People.
Cohen works for the Gersh Agency, which signed Trachtenberg in 2014.
Here is what we know about him:
His career as an agent and producer … and banker
Cohen is a partner and the head of film finance and distribution at Gersh, according to his bio.
He produced and self-financed the 1994 movie “Swimming with Sharks,” which was his first. He also served as an executive producer for the film’s series adaptation, which premiered in 2022.
Prior to his career in Hollywood, Cohen achieved success on Wall Street.
“I started out as an investment banker in New York, made my way to LA [and] financed some movies for people by accident, so I learned how to make movies because I invested in a movie, and turns out the producers didn’t understand they weren’t supposed to take the money home,” he explained at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
“So I took the movie over, learned all about film production, started a production company with Dustin Hoffman, had another production company, made a lot of movies and then transitioned over to being a packaging agent.”
His children
Cohen has two adult daughters: Rachel Cohen and Lili Cohen.
He posted a photo of them together in Miami in June 2023, captioning the shot, “Love Miami style.”
The following month, he wrote alongside a picture of the trio on a tropical getaway, “First vacation with my daughters in a while ! Love you both so much ❤️.”
That November, Jay gushed over Lili’s wedding by captioning an image from the special day, “My youngest Lili and Lyndsay now married . I gained a new beautiful sweet loving daughter in my family ❤️❤️.”
His relationship with Trachtenberg
Though Jay and Trachtenberg were a relatively private couple, he did upload a few snaps with the “Gossip Girl” star throughout their relationship.
“#fireworks are every day with this one !! 🎆,” he captioned a Fourth of July selfie in 2021.
Jay then shared a mirror selfie in honor of Valentine’s Day in 2023, writing alongside it, “My valentine.”
Trachtenberg also posted pictures with her beau over the years, most recently on Valentine’s Day in 2025, less than two weeks before her untimely death.
Jay has neither posted about the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star’s death nor responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
