“We are a package deal,” he told the outlet at the time. “I’m arm candy. You have no idea how proud I am. Just saying that’s gonna make me cry. I’ve watched her, she works harder than anyone I know. I’ve watched her work and work and work, and knock on the door — and then finally get recognized for what she has been doing for 35 years. It’s just a real joy.”

LaNasa returned the favor, profusely thanking Show in her Emmys speech.

“Lastly, my children for making me real,” she said. “And my beautiful husband, Grant Show, for helping me always with everything.”

Grant Show Is an Actor

Grant Show has been acting since the 1980s, notably starring as Jake Hanson on Melrose Place from 1992 to 1997.

“They cast me for Melrose Place knowing that they were going to put that character on [Beverly Hills] 90210 sort of to springboard Melrose Place,” Show said on a 2024 episode of the series’ “Still the Place” recap podcast. “It wasn’t the spinoff [or] any of that kind of thing. It was, like, they knew this all going in. And then I did three episodes of 90210 [as] Jake.”

Jake was initially the handyman hired to build a gazebo for Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) and her family. While Jake was 25 years old, Kelly was famously a teenager.

“She was a grown-up, professional actress,” Show said, acknowledging that Garth was actually in her early 20s at the time. “I didn’t really think much of it at the time we were shooting. When I watched it, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, look at that.’ … It’s different.”

Garth later appeared in the pilot episode of Melrose Place, where she shared a kiss with Show’s Jake.

Show’s other credits include The Love Boat, The Alchemists, Six Feet Under, Point Pleasant, Private Practice, Big Love, Devious Maids and Dynasty.

Grant Show was married to his first wife, Pollyanna McIntosh, from 2004 to 2011 before crossing paths with Katherine LaNasa while filming Big Love.

“Katherine and I met on Big Love, but my character essentially replaced hers, so we never really spent time together,” he told Redbook in 2013. “About eight months later, I was in Vancouver working on a movie, and she was working on a pilot up there, too. We’d hang out with a mutual friend, but neither of us was available, so we were just friends who did casual things like go bowling. When I got back to L.A., I finally asked her out, and we went on a couple of real dates.”

While speaking with Redbook, Show gushed that he and LaNasa are “best friends who always want to hang out with each other.”
