We tried Brittany Mahomes’ favorite body oil

When it comes to beauty brands, there are plenty of fish in the sea — but these marine-inspired products have celebrities hooked.

Osea’s algae-based formulas have garnered glowing reviews from stars like Brittany Mahomes, who’s shouted out the best-selling Undaria Algae Body Oil.

“Not like you guys asked, but y’all know I only share things that I’m absolutely obsessed with,” she wrote on Instagram Stories earlier this year, sharing a snap of her nearly empty bottle of the product.

“This is NEXT LEVEL,” the WAG added, saying it “has done wonders” for her skin.

Victoria Beckham has name-checked it as a go-to as well, while Jessel Taank told Page Six Style it’s her “holy grail” and leaves her skin feeling “super soft.”

I’ll admit I was personally a bit skeptical at first, as I’ve never been a body oil girl. (While I like the glowy look, I’ve always been afraid of staining sheets or furniture — or walking around feeling greasy all day.)

But after Taank told me how fast it absorbs, I was intrigued to give this one a try. Read on for my full thoughts on the oil, plus a couple of other Osea hits.

My review

After trying it out firsthand, I can attest it truly does absorb in just a few seconds, and — at least in my experience — it doesn’t transfer to clothing.

The oil has a nice subtle scent, and it left my skin feeling noticeably smoother and glowier. I’m sad I discovered it as summer’s almost over, because I think it’s a great hack for more radiant-looking legs when wearing shorter skirts or shorts.

I even tried applying it to only one leg, and noticed my skin truly looked more even and shimmery afterward.

While I can’t speak to any long-term firming effects just yet, if you’re looking for a little extra glow, this formula’s a winner in my book. It makes sense that stars who wear skin-baring red carpet looks or pose for beach photo shoots swear by the stuff.

Osea Hyaluronic Lip Oil Booster

This juicy lip oil is another top seller, and I can totally see why. It’s billed as a gloss-balm hybrid, but it feels more gloss-like to me. My favorite part is the mango and mandarin scent; it’s like a tropical smoothie for your lips.

After doing some reading on the brand’s site, I realized you can layer lotion or body serum with the Undaria oil. The milky texture of this serum stands apart from thicker moisturizers and body butters, and applying it was truly a sensorial, spa-like experience.

It promises to boost hydration by 161% (!) for visibly healthy, smooth skin — and while I’m not sure about the 161%, it sure seemed to deliver.

The verdict

It makes sense that Osea’s founder, Jenefer Palmer, came up with the idea for the brand while working as a spa director in Miami. The line smells (and feels) like something you’d find in a luxury spa. If you’re looking for a no-frills lotion to slather on after a shower, Osea might not be your best bet. But If you’re someone who loves body care or wants to add a little luxury to your shower routine, these could be just the thing.

• Value for the price: Did the products justify their price tags?
• Ease of use: Were they easy to apply? Did they absorb quickly?
