Question: Where would you go to listen to music made in Singapore? (And no, we’re not accepting “why would I want to listen to Singapore music?” as an answer.) Spotify? YouTube? Tidal? Apple Music? Sure, but you’d have to sift through millions of tracks to find what you’re looking for. But what about … supermarkets? Yes, you read right. Thanks to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the National Arts Council (NAC) and FairPrice, supermarkets could be the new music discovery platform. Under this new MOU, local music is played daily in 159 outlets across Singapore during the following times: 11am to 1pm, 3 to 5pm, and 7 to 9pm….
