After two years at its current premises, Anteiku Studios announced that it will be shuttering its Haji Lane store due to hiking rent.
Taking to social media on Sunday (Sept 13), AJ, co-founder of the vintage store said: “Due to the only ever-increasing rental rates here in Haji Lane, we will be closing our unit this November.”
The store’s last day will be on Nov 15.
But this doesn’t spell the end for the popular haunt.
Instead, it will be joining Rocks Cafe at Arab Street, where the two businesses will operate jointly as “one entity”, said AJ.
First opened late last year, the cafe is founded by Mike, AJ’s partner and the other co-founder of Anteiku Studios.
Sharing more about the cafe, AJ said visitors can expect “great pizza, coffee [and] matcha”, as well as community nights such as Beyblade nights, Smash Bros nights and trading card game nights, among other “random events”.
Anteiku Studios’ first day of operations at the cafe is to be announced.
The upcoming move will mark Anteiku Studios’ third move since its first opening at Pearl’s Hill Terrace five years ago.
It subsequently moved to The Pink House at North Bridge Road before transitioning into its current outlet at Haji Lane.
Thanking customers for their support over the years, AJ said: “We’ll keep Anteiku alive for as long as we can. Thank you so much y’all. See you soon at Rocks Cafe x Anteiku Studios.”
