Chhaava is clearly the film that movie buffs and critics are busy discussing! The film starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna has managed to enthral all. The period drama – directed by Laxman Utekar – is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. From stunning visuals to high-octane action sequences, every aspect about this film has garnered attention. Chhaava has also been dominating the box office since day one. However, on its second Monday, it witnessed a slight dip. We get the latest box office report of Chhaava
As per Sacnilk.com, Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna and others made around Rs 18.50 crore at the box office on day 11, i.e., second Monday. These are the early estimates. However, it is for the first time since the film’s release that the collection has slipped under Rs 20 crore. Yet, Rs 18.50 crore is a big number. When Bollywood films are struggling to make money at the box office, Chhaava is managing to pull the audiences to the theatres even in its third week. As per the report, the India Net Collection total of the film now stands at approximately Rs 345.25 crore.
On second Sunday, i.e, day 10, Chhaava made approximately Rs 40 crore at the domestic box office. Second Saturday number was approximately Rs 44 crore.
Chhaava has been making headlines in entertainment news sites for its story, performances, and more. However, the film is now caught in a controversy. The makers were threatened of Rs 100 crore defamation case by the Shirke family. In the film, Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke, have been reportedly shown as people betraying Sambhaji Maharaj. This hasn’t gone down well with the members of Shirke family. Laxman Utekar was reportedly served with a notice demanding changes in the film. As reported by Marathi news outlet Pudhari, the director extended an apology. “We have only mentioned the names of Ganoji and Kanhoji in Chhaava, without referring to their surname. We’ve also made sure to not disclose the village they belonged to. Our intention was not to hurt the sentiments of the Shirke family. I sincerely apologise if Chhaava caused any discomfort,” he said.
