On social media, fans are cherishing his cinematic legacy and mourning the loss. Diving down in nostalgia, many stories around Manoj Kumar have made to the headlines. One such story is of his reaction to Ranveer Singh recreating his iconic hand-on-the-face pose.

Back in 2018, Ranveer Singh had shared a picture on social media that had him posing with his hand on his face. He shared it with the caption, “Workin’ the Manoj Kumar.” The senior actor had reacted to Ranveer’s imitation of him and showered praises on Padmaavat star. To Mid-Day, Manoj Kumar stated that he really liked the picture of Ranveer. He was quoted saying, “I have seen the snapshot. He has done a good job of imitating me. I laughed a lot when I saw the picture. Ranveer is on the right track.” He also called him a fine artiste and wished him luck for future endeavours. Manoj Kumar shared that he had watched Ranveer’s Band Bajaa Baraat. The legendary star also revealed that he had worked with Ranveer Singh’s grandmother Chanda Burke in Pehchan.

While Manoj Kumar approved of Ranveer Singh’s imitation of his signature pose, the veteran star was not happy with Shah Rukh Khan doing it in Om Shanti Om. The actor was asked about the same and he said, “What Shah Rukh did was hitting below the belt, what Ranveer did was in good taste.”

For the unversed, in Om Shanti Om, there was a scene where Shah Rukh Khan and Shreyas Talpade imitated Manoj Kumar’s iconic pose. It did not go down well with Manoj Kumar who then pressed defamation charges against King Khan and Farah Khan. However, he later withdrew the case.
