Today show host Karl Stefanovic couldn’t contain his laughter on Tuesday morning while interviewing former Australian politician Joe Hockey.
Karl and his co-host Sarah Abo were chatting to the diplomat about Donald Trump’s inauguration as he was sworn in as the 47th US president.
After discussing how the changes will impact Australia, Karl mentioned how some of the country’s richest attended the ceremony.
‘There were some heavy hitters in the room, that whole front row of billionaires. There is one photo doing the rounds of Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos’ fiancee. It’s going to be a different Washington DC, is it not? ‘ Karl asked.
Lauren, 51, has been making headlines after attending the inauguration in a white pantsuit, with her white lace bra on full display under its matching jacket.
Joe giggled before responding: ‘Well there’s been a transition in Washington. There is a lot of people with a lot of cosmetic surgery.’

Karl couldn’t contain his laughter as Sarah asked: ‘There is a lot to keep your eye on, isn’t there?’
‘It’s quite the transition and slightly confronting. There has definitely been a change in the guard,’ Joe admitted.
Lauren shocked the public as she arrived to Trump’s inauguration with Bezos, 61, in a racy choice of outfit.
She wore a long white mohair coat, buttoned up in the middle with her long, dark brown hair wavy and tied up in a low pony tail, with some loose tendrils around her face.
Once inside, she took her demure jacket off to reveal the white pantsuit – with lace lingerie peaking through.
Lauren was seated next to the CEO of Meta and Facebook Mark Zuckerberg at the inauguration of Trump.
The bold wardrobe choice sent social media into a frenzy, with many people take to X to share their thoughts on the risqué ensemble.
‘Good grief, Lauren Sanchez. Put them away for one day,’ a disgusted user urged.
Joe giggled before saying: ‘Well there’s been a transition in Washington. There is a lot of people with a lot of cosmetic surgery’
