Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, got into a wild screaming match at the ultra exclusive Casa Cipriani a few months ago, a source tells Page Six, after another guest rudely insulted his wife.
Spies say the President-elect’s former fixer was having a quiet drink with his wife, Laura Shusterman, on the terrace at the downtown private club, when they were heckled by the guest of another member.
“Some mafia-type guy yelled something to the effect of, ‘Your wife must be a whore because she is sleeping with a rat,’” says the spy.
Cohen, who has a famously a short fuse, went into meltdown mode, we’re told.
Another source tells us Cohen “lost his s–t” in defense of his wife.
“He went crazy on the guy,” says the source. “They were very loudly screaming at each other. A manager held them back before it got physical.”
We hear that when the fracas finally died down, Cohen was removed from the club.
Cohen tells us: “The scenario as you’ve described is factually inaccurate.”
But he wouldn’t give us any further comment.
A rep for Cipriani declined to comment, citing its policy of not commenting on members.
This isn’t even the first time he’s been called a rodent at the posh club.
Back in May, Page Six reported that the disbarred lawyer, who had just taken the stand as a key witness in Donald Trump’s hush money trial, faced off with a MAGA loyalists at the club, with one member of the group snarling, “he’s a rat.”
A source said of the earlier incident that Cohen was not a “welcomed individual” in their circle and that one Trump super fan went so far as to show Cohen a T-shirt with the number “47” in the distinctive MAGA red color — suggesting at the time that Trump would win reelection.
Cohen avoided getting into it that time, with sources telling us he just left.
It is unclear if this is the same person.
Cohen previously went to prison for campaign-finance violations, tax fraud and bank fraud — and pleaded guilty to lying to US congressional committees.
He penned a book, “Disloyal: A Memoir,” and has a podcast, called “Mea Culpa.”
Casa Cipriani, which has seen Taylor Swift, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jared Leto, was actively purging members in September 2023 in an attempt to revamp up its clientele.
“They’re looking for a cooler clientele, like art world people … more high-profile,” said a source.
