The first month of the new year 2025 is over and while we have seen some big movies released on the screens, there was nothing that could shatter the box office. Trade has its eyes on Salman Khan’s Eid release Sikandar to actually put the Bollywood box office out of slumber after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in 2024. Sikandar has everything going for it – Salman is coming back on Eid after giving the slot a miss last year (last Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Haan in 2023). He pairs up with national crush Rashmika Mandanna for the first time. The film is directed by AR Murugadoss, who knows how to present larger than life action entertainers and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who knows perfectly how to present Salman Khan to his audience.
However, trade still feels a lot is dependent on the trailer of the film. An industry insider tells us, ”Everyone is rooting for Salman Khan’s Sikandar. It is THE big Bollywood film of the year. It is just how everyone was waiting for Shah Rukh’s Pathaan. Salman too hasn’t had a big hit since some time now the industry is waiting to see if Sikandar changes that. The film is definitely going to open big.” However, the source said that the trailer will decide how big the opening actually gets. “The trailer has to do the magic and if that strikes the chord, there will be no stopping Sikandar. A gigantic opening will be guaranteed,” the source said.
And it seems the makers of the film have heard what the trade experts have been talking about. We hear that a massive trailer is being cut. A source tells us exclusively, “The first half is shot but the makers do not want to make the trailer based on just that. There are some key moments from the second half that are being shot right now post which the trailer will be cut. The idea is to present Salman Khan in the larger than life avatar that his fans love him in, at the same time, give the audience a taste of what to expect from this AR Murugadoss directorial. It will surely be a treat. The brief is to make it mind-blowing.” There is also a song with Salman and Rashmika which will be one of th highlights of the film.
The film Sikandar is slated for a Eid release in March end and the trailer can be expected early or mid March, giving the makers enough time to shoot some crucial scenes of the second half and cut the perfect trailer.
