Tracee Ellis Ross isn’t kissing this lipstick goodbye anytime soon.
The actress recently revealed she’s been wearing MAC MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo since she was 16 — and now, at 53, she’s still obsessed with the “perfect” red-blue hue.
“It can turn any outfit into something top-notch,” she told the Strategist. “It can make your workout feel easier. It can literally make you look like the most elegant woman in the world without a stitch of any other thing on your face.”
“If you’re having a bad day, put on some Ruby Woo,” the Pattern founder quipped, saying she keeps tubes of the lipstick “everywhere” — including in all of her purses and multiple offices.
She’s far from the only one who loves the timeless red; Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson and Angelina Jolie (to name but a few) have all been linked to the MAC mainstay, while Taylor Swift told People in 2015 that it’s a “staple.”
Page Six Style & Shopping Director Elana Fishman is a fan as well, saying, “Ruby Woo is a certified classic for a reason; it’s long-wearing, completely matte and looks great on a wide variety of skin tones.”
Even better, it’s currently on sale for under $20 at both MAC and Sephora, in celebration of National Lipstick Day (July 29).
Ruby Woo isn’t the only timeless find Ross can’t live without, as she also told the outlet she stocks up on Levi’s Vintage 1950s 701 Jeans.
“The high waist is like ‘mwah! mwah!’” she said. “And they have just a nice straight leg. I have variations of sizes that I wear.”
And she can’t live without Alex Mill’s equally durable Perfect Weekday Tote, a best-selling monogrammed bag also seen on the arms of stars like Kaia Gerber and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Mine is blue and it has a T-E-R on the side,” she said. “It’s the perfect carry-all.”
