When a mob of floppy-haired doppelgangers descended on New York City to showcase their likeness to Timothée Chalamet, the star gate-crashed the event.

Surreptitiously weaving his way through the mass of gangly bodies with feminine faces, high-set cheekbones and intense stares, Chalamet clearly approved of the competition, held in 2024 at Washington Square Park.

But the same cannot be said for one lookalike, whose use of his resemblance to Chalamet is believed to have left the actor feeling ‘uncomfortable’.

Eddie Veyro, a Mexican OnlyFans creator, is using his likeness to Chalamet to make thousands of dollars from explicit and provocative adults-only content.

Veyro, who is in his late 20s, uses the handle ‘@CallMeEddieV’ – a nod to Call Me By Your Name, the 2017 sexual coming-of-age film that fueled Chalamet’s stratospheric rise to fame.

Dubbed ‘The CHALAMET lookalike everyone is talking about,’ on his Twitter account, he invites users to ‘see the private, uncensored side of me’ on his OnlyFans, which he launched three years ago to make some extra cash.

‘I used it for fun,’ he told the Daily Mail in an exclusive interview. ‘I didn’t really have an idea that this was going to grow so fast. I wanted to have more money from different work.

‘Then after one year I was like “oh my God this is really big, so I need to make it more professional.” Now it’s almost my full-time job.’

Chalamet has been left ‘uncomfortable’ at the thought of people mistaking Veyro for him. The association said to be a little ‘too close for comfort,’ according to a source

Eddie Veyro, who is in his late 20s, uses the handle ‘@CallMeEddieV’ on OnlyFans. It’s a nod to Call Me By Your Name, the 2017 sexual coming-of-age film that Chalamet, now 30, starred in

After amassing 20,000 followers in his first year, Veyro started collaborating, making uncensored gay porn with other creators, photographers and companies for promotions, growing his following to over 100,000.

He said he started making nods to Chalamet, 30, because ‘a lot of people told me, “Oh you’re very similar”,’ after Call Me By Your Name was released.

Veyro, who is a fan of the film, said he ‘started to watch [Chalamet] when I was younger and I always said “oh he’s really cute”.’

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Call Me By Your Name follows Chalamet’s 17-year-old Elio Perlman who falls in love with 24-year-old graduate student Oliver, played by Armie Hammer.

The film whipped up questions about Chalamet’s sexuality, with the actor seemingly refusing to declare his orientation in interviews, instead describing sexuality in general as ‘very fluid’.

‘Love takes on a boundary-less form and the more organic we can make love and the more definition-less and away from the western stringent boundaries of classification – gay, heterosexual, bisexual – that we’ve been living our lives under… the freer we are and the more capable we are to fully commit ourselves to love and to pain and to suffering,’ he rhapsodized to reporters at one press conference in Italy at the time.

And his fashion choices only served to fuel the speculation. Such red carpet pieces have included a backless red halter top, a silver Ackermann suit cinched around the waist over a silk blouse and a glittery black Louis Vuitton harness.

Despite his relationship with Kylie Jenner – the pair have been dating since early 2023 – in some corners of the internet, debate over his sexuality rages on.

‘Online rumors have questioned Timothée’s sexuality since he portrayed a gay teen in Call Me By Your Name. Even though he’s been dating Kylie for three years, the gossip won’t go away,’ a source told us.

But the source said such rumors aren’t the issue at hand for Chalamet.

Instead, the actor is said to have been left ‘uncomfortable’ at the thought of people mistaking Veyro for him, the association a little ‘too close for comfort’.

‘Timothée has been alerted to the account and the attention surrounding it,’ they said. ‘The comparisons have made the situation uncomfortable for him.

‘Eddie’s likeness is too close for comfort and the content is sexual. His concern isn’t Eddie’s sexuality or audience. It’s simply the possibility of people wrongly associating him with content he didn’t create or approve.’

But Veyro is adamant that he isn’t trying to dupe people into thinking he is the Timothée Chalamet.

‘I think people just like that I have a lot of similarities to Timothée but it’s just for fun,’ he told us. ‘I can’t control what they say about the way I look. I don’t want to take his name or anything.

‘I have never intended to upset Timothée or copy him. I am not affiliated with him, and he has not endorsed, approved or participated in my account or its content.’

It marks Chalamet’s second entanglement with OnlyFans this year.

In March, the Daily Mail detailed the actor’s three-year romance with 32-year-old Sarah Tena, a former adult entertainer who also used the X-rated site.

Veyro, who bears a resemblance to Chalamet, told the Daily Mail: ‘I have never intended to upset Timothée or copy him’

Chalamet is dating Kylie Jenner

The mother-of-one said that their love story, albeit non-exclusive, started in January 2020 when she sent Chalamet a message on Instagram from her professional account ‘Azul Hermosa’ after discovering him in Netflix film, The King.

She said monthly meet-ups soon followed – their first saw Chalamet serenade Tena with Bob Dylan songs – he had just landed what unbeknownst to him at the time would be an Oscar-nominated role in A Complete Unknown, a biopic about the prolific musician – as they drank wine and bonded over their love of films.

Tena finally confessed her deepening feelings for him the last time they saw each other in person in June 2022, but six months later, he was with Jenner.

She described Chalamet as a ‘gentleman’ who ‘never made me feel guilty’ about her career and was ‘very invested’ in her life. She told us she has no hard feelings towards him.

For his part, Veyro is also a big fan.

‘He’s a good actor for sure,’ he said of Chalamet, who has unknowingly afforded Veyro a life he could once only dream of.

Veyro, who was reticent to disclose the exact amount he makes, said it was ‘thousands of dollars every month’.

‘I make such good money,’ he said. ‘It’s the reason I want to make [the account] more professional.’

His first purchase was an SUV, which he paid off in three months. Fast forward three years and he has just purchased his first property – a two bedroom, two bathroom house that he plans to rent out on Airbnb.

Thankfully for Chalamet, Veyro has plans to quit OnlyFans, instead using the money he has earned from selling provocative content under the banner ‘Your Timothée Lookalike Fantasy Starts Here’ to start his own business.

‘I would like to open a bar or restaurant,’ he said. ‘Because I grew up with business I helped my father with business so I want to go in that direction.’

But for now he needs to keep growing his fanbase, and bank balance, on the platform.

‘I understand people may come because of the resemblance, but once they subscribe, I hope they stay for me,’ he said.

The Daily Mail has contacted Chalamet’s representatives for comment.
