Chiranjeevi began his journey in the showbiz industry with the 1978 drama Pranam Khareedu. Directed by K Vasu, the film featured Raogopalrao and Jayasudha in crucial roles. Chiranjeevi’s debut as a protagonist came with the Rajkumar directorial Punadhirallu in 1979.
Chiranjeevi, who is revered for being a trendsetter, is currently filming Mega 156, and is reportedly charging Rs 70 crore per film. This hefty fee has left the directors confused, and several producers in the Telugu film industry are also thinking through their decisions to work with him.
According to an unverified report by Siasat, Chiranjeevi’s recent releases haven’t done well at the BO, but that hasn’t deterred him from charging a high fee for the film. “The actor is charging INR 70 crore per film as per reports due to which producers think of bringing him to the board. Trade analysts predict that Chiranjeevi may lose various projects as he has started charging hefty amounts of money,” the publication had reported.
Going by a recent report in Siasat, Chiranjeevi has demanded ₹75 crore for his upcoming project. Reportedly, this amount is to be the highest amount Chiranjeevi has charged in his entire career. Report also suggests that a significant portion of the amount has already been paid to him.
This upcoming film is reportedly a gangster drama which is set in the 90s. Chiranjeevi’s role in the film has been crafted keeping his style and age in mind. Its music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander and will be produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri. Chiranjeevi will next be seen in Vishwambhara. The film has been written and directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations
