It is also said that an actor’s debut film can either make them a star or break their career. Well, some start with a high-budget film and a star-studded cast lead to success. While some films fail to create a mark at the box office. Many actors bounce back and carve their names with their exceptional acting skills. Here we are talking about one such actress whose career took a rough start and she gave a flop film debut. Can you guess who it is?
Well, we are talking about Katrina Kaif who was discovered at a fashion show by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad in 2003. He cast her in Boom film which also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff and Gulshan Grover. Despite having a massive cast, Boom did not do well at the box office. The film’s failure made producer Ayesha Shroff sell off her assets to recover from the financial losses.
Katrina was a last-minute replacement for model Meghna Reddy in the film. The film’s failure was a big blow to her career. This also harmed the Shroff family. In 2020, Tiger Shroff in an interview said that, ‘I remember how our furniture was sold off, one by one. Things I had grown up seeing around us started disappearing. Then my bed went. I started to sleep on the floor. It was the worst feeling of my life’.
On the work front, Katrina made a strong comeback and was seen in Namaste London, Welcome, Raajneeti, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Ek Tha Tiger, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Dhoom 3.
