Blossoming with meaning.
The inspiration behind Lady Gaga naming her daughter Rose comes from the song “La Vie En Rose,” an insider told People Thursday.
Gaga famously covered the song in her 2018 film “A Star Is Born.”
The musician starred in “A Star Is Born” alongside Bradley Cooper, who also produced and directed the film.
The movie follows a seasoned, hard-drinking musician named Jackson Maine (Cooper) who falls in love with a struggling singer-songwriter named Ally (Gaga), helping launch her into massive stardom while his own career and personal life spiral due to addiction.
It was actually Gaga’s real-life rendition of “La Vie En Rose” that scored her the part of Ally in 2016.
Cooper saw her perform the classic French song at a fundraiser for the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at the home of entrepreneur Sean Parker in April of that year, and knew from that moment that she was his Ally.
“She demolished the room,” he recalled in October 2018, per Billboard. “I knew that was plutonium.”
Not only did her performance get her a spot in the film, which earned Gaga an Oscar, her now-husband Michael Polansky was at that same charity event before she even knew him.
Polansky was at the concert benefit because he helped create the Parker Foundation in 2015 and served as the executive director for over a decade.
As the song has many layers of meaning for Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta), she previously showed her love for it with a large tattoo on her spine of a single rose on a long stem with the words “la vie en rose” written in script beside it.
According to People’s source, Rose’s middle name, Bean, likely comes from activist Carl Bean, who inspired Gaga’s song “Born This Way.”
As Page Six previously reported, the couple welcomed their little one in June via surrogate.
A source told us Monday that Gaga’s journey to become a mom, which we hear started in 2024, has had “ups and downs” due to a “hard road” of health struggles.
The insider said, “There have been moments of giddiness and moments of despair. It has been so sad. It’s a real tale of hard times, both physical and emotional, en route to this happy ending.”
Now that their daughter is here, Gaga and her husband have reportedly “both took time off of work this summer to be with” her.
The Grammy winner, 40, began dating Polansky, 42, in late 2019 and went public with their romance in 2020.
They got engaged four years later and many of their friends reportedly believe the pair eloped.
