Golden Eve, a new Golden Globes marquee event, marks the official kickoff of Golden Week 2026. The televised special honors this year’s recipients of the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Carol Burnett Award, Helen Mirren and Sarah Jessica Parker, respectively.
The hour-long ceremony airs on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m. PT/ET on CBS, meaning cord-cutters can stream it live on any TV streaming service that carries the network, including DirecTV (with a five-day free trial), Fubo (with a five-day free trial) and Hulu + Live TV.
Golden Eve will also livestream on Paramount+ Premium (formerly Paramount+ with Showtime). Paramount+ Essential subscribers will not be able to watch the event live, however they will be able to access it on demand the following day.
The star-studded celebration took place at The Beverly Hilton on Tuesday, Jan. 6, and includes speeches, never-before-seen footage and the presentation of the two awards. Since select streamers are offering free trials and limited-time discounts, viewers can catch Golden Eve at no cost; keep reading to learn more about each option (and more about the new annual event).
