A Texas influencer is behind bars, charged with sexually assaulting a “very young child” and filming the abuse, according to court documents shared with Us Weekly.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the allegations against Victor Corey Paillet III, 40 — known on social media by the handles “Kandy Red” and “Kandy Red Bread.”
The social media influencer is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and promotion of child pornography, which are both first-degree felonies. Investigators said the alleged sexual assault happened on Friday, January 16.
The child’s mother spoke to FOX 26 and ABC 13 on the condition of anonymity, and said she met Paillet two years ago. The two had been dating, she said.
Last week, when she needed to leave for work, she told cops she had asked Paillet if he could watch her children until her sister came around to pick them up. But she said she got a strange feeling from him later on and decided to sift through his phone.
The mother told FOX 26 she found videos of her daughter, who is 2, and immediately went to her sister and they called 911.
“And then I was like, we gotta call the cops… so then we called immediately and they came right away,” she said. “We’re just literally traumatized… she’s been crying… it’s hard to sleep…”
“She’s just a baby, like why would you do this to a baby, like how can you do this to her, how can you do this to me?” she continued.
The mother did not describe what she saw in the footage but told ABC 13, “I just keep seeing that video over and over in my head. And just everything, and I literally haven’t been able to sleep, I’ve just been crying so much lately.”
She also said the entire ordeal has changed her daughter. “She’s just been so clingy now. She has changed since that happened. She’s just been crying so much lately, and we both do need to seek therapy for sure. We’re going to try and get some help, and I had to break the lease at the house … we can’t go back to that house where the trauma happened.”
Paillet is being held in Montgomery County Jail with no bond, Us Weekly learned.
Investigators said that they do think Paillet may have additional victims, and noted he has ties to the Houston area, as well as Louisiana. “I just hope everyone comes forward, so we can all get the justice that we deserve,” the mother said.
