Paige DeSorbo predicted that Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke would split up years before they actually called it quits.
While filming season 8 of Summer House in 2023, DeSorbo, 33, had a conversation where she told Cooke, 43, that she could see Batula, 34, leaving him if he pursued his dreams of becoming a DJ instead of putting her interests first.
“I’m gonna become a DJ and I’m just gonna go on tour,” Cooke told DeSorbo and Ciara Miller in a resurfaced clip. DeSorbo raised her eyebrows while Miller, 30, told him he wasn’t “even thinking about [Batula’s] wellbeing.” (Batula was working as the creative director of Loverboy, Kyle’s spiked tea brand.)
DeSorbo agreed, telling him, “I don’t wanna have this conversation in five years that she’s leaving you.” She added, “You’re starting that slippery slope. She’s gonna get so unhappy. And then you’re gonna lose your marriage because of a company.”
Throughout the seasons, Batula asked Cooke, who she wed in 2021, to take a step back in his partying habits. She was also hesitant about him becoming a DJ because it would continue his habits of late nights out.
“She’s gonna be so resentful because she’s supported everything you’ve done,” Miller chimed in.
DeSorbo added, “You’re at a really big life crossroad. If this made her feel a little bit more confident, then see what happens.”
Cooke fired back, “If that’s what’s gonna bring happiness and confidence, of course. I just think it’s a little more complicated than that.” DeSorbo then asked him if it was “the worst thing in the world” if Batula chose to stop working for Loverboy.” Cooke then left the room while saying he was going to “hire another creative director.”
DeSorbo and Miller ended the conversation by telling him he was “being selfish.”
More recently, DeSorbo showed support for her newly single friend rekindling her friendship with her “Giggly Squad” podcast cohost Hannah Berner, who left Summer House after season 5 because of conflicts with Batula and Cooke.
Earlier this week, DeSorbo“liked” a fan’s Instagram post of a photo of herself, Batula and Berner, 34, talking to each other while filming the reality show. “Now that Kyle is out of the picture, I feel like we can get this friendship back,” the caption read.
Cooke and Batula announced their split on Monday, January 19, via Instagram. “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” Batula and Cooke captioned the post. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”
Their statement continued, “It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time. Since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
Fans saw a glimpse of Batula and Cooke’s rocky relationship during a trailer for season 10 of Summer House, where they argued over his DJ career and more. The show is set to air on Bravo on February 3.
