Tate McRae may be one of the music scene’s most lucrative influencers, but it seems even she wasn’t a fan of one brand she was paid to promote in a TikTok post.
The Canadian singer has received a roasting from her followers after sharing a video promoting the budget skincare brand Neutrogena.
In the video, Tate credited Neutrogena’s products for being a fixture in her post-show skincare regime, and used them to remove her stage makeup.
But fans quickly pointed out that it looked like Tate wasn’t actually applying the products to her face.
Others also noted that Tate hadn’t even removed the lid from the moisturiser, and said that her hand was also blocking the makeup wipes from touching her skin.
They commented: ‘Refusing to actually use the product you’re marketing… interesting choice; Literally not even using the wipe her hands are in the way of the wipe;

It comes just days after it emerged that Tate has split from her boyfriend Jack Hughes, with Page Six reporting that it was the NHL star who decided to call off their relationship.
The couple were first spotted on a dinner date at Anton’s in New York City’s West Village back in November before being seen on a stroll weeks later.
Hughes was reportedly the instigator and was the one to message McRae first on social media. According to Us Weekly, McRae and Hughes started ‘exclusively’ dating each other in March.

The video sparked a sea of hilarious comments from Tate’s followers, who poked fun at the video and claimed she must think her fans were ‘born yesterday’
McRae recently said she was overwhelmed by the scrutiny she faced after ending her year-long relationship with Kid Laroi.
‘It was really scary and overwhelming, I would never talk that way, even about my friends’ lives,’ she told Rolling Stone magazine.
‘I didn’t realize how much it would affect me, the public knowing my private life – because no one knows the full story of anything, ever.
‘I also hate people painting a situation that’s worse than it is. But what I’ve had to realize is that he’s going to write songs and I’m going to write songs, and that’s our way of expressing ourselves.’
She added: ‘That’s our art, that’s our job. And once it’s out there, it’s not mine anymore.’
McRae, who released debut album I Used To Think I Could Fly in 2022, also said fame and attention has taken a toll on her over the last 12 months.
She said: ‘I don’t even recognize that person. I feel I’ve aged 10 years in the past year.’
