Sydney Sweeney has revealed the type of man she finds appealing, amid her second public romance with a much older boyfriend.
The 28-year-old Hollywood bombshell spent seven and a half years with restaurateur Jonathan Davino, 41, until news of their breakup circulated in early 2025.
For a few months now she has been involved with music tycoon Scooter Braun, 44, who previously managed such acts as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
Now, as her latest blossoming dalliance hits the headlines, the world-famous pinup peeled back the curtain to reveal the attributes she looks for in the men she dates.
‘Athletic and outgoing and funny. I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me,’ she told Cosmopolitan.
‘And someone who loves their family. I love myself a man…oh, wow, when you print that, you won’t hear the inflection in my voice,’ she observed, adding: ‘Look, I am a boss in my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I am confident, and I am successful, and I don’t actually need a man.’

The Euphoria actress continued: ‘I’ve got myself. I’ve got an incredible group of girlfriends. I’ve got a team of bada** women. That is very intimidating to a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me.’
Sweeney reflected of her love life: ‘It takes a very specific person who can handle the world that comes with me. There was a guy who I really, really liked, but he told me he can’t handle my world. It’s a hard thing.’
She also candidly revealed: ‘The other day, my mom and I were talking about guys, and I was like: “Well, he’s not really my type.”’
Sweeney’s mother Lisa then replied: ‘“Well, maybe your type’s not working out for you, Syd.” Maybe I need to be open to other experiences and try not to put everything in this exact box of what I think I need.’
Braun and Sweeney were first linked when they were spotted mingling at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding functions in Venice over the summer.
In November, however, she was glimpsed sliding into a car driven by Davino after dinner with friends in Santa Monica, and during their conversation she was alleged to have shouted at him: ‘I don’t believe you. Please leave, leave me alone.’
During her new interview, Sweeney reflected on her decision to keep the glare of public scrutiny off her longtime romance with Davino, whom she became engaged to in March 2022 nearly three years before their split.
‘I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it. I was very private. No one would ever see us,’ she said.

‘I think it’s important to have some things for myself. I understand that I’m a public person, but I’m still in my 20s. I’m still figuring out love, and it’s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like.’
She recalled: ‘At the same time, for all of my 20s, I put my head down and focused on work – and now I want to experience things. But it’s hard deciding that I want to experience love in the public eye. I’m just navigating it all.’
The revelation came after a source claimed Braun was ‘furious’ when he learned about Sweeney’s encounter with Davino in November, via The Sun.
An insider has also stated Braun has grown ‘frustrated’ over the soccer players sliding into Sweeney’s DMs on Instagram in a manner he regards as ‘incredibly disrespectful,’ despite the fact she ‘ignores them and blocks the sender.’
The insider shared: ‘Sydney has always been fiercely independent’, the source explained. She values time alone – whether that’s travelling by herself, going out with girlfriends, or just switching off.’
Meanwhile her boyfriend ‘prefers togetherness, and he’s still adjusting to that,’ said the source, while noting Sweeney was ‘completely transparent’ with him.
‘She shows him everything to be honest. Seeing how relentless some of these men are can upset him – but she always reassures him.’
