“Survivor” fans are fuming after President Donald Trump’s speech interrupted the CBS series’ extra-long merge episode.
The two-hour episode of “Survivor 50” was scheduled to air Wednesday night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, but was interrupted by the president’s address that aired at 9 p.m. ET.
“Survivor” fans were not happy over the speech cutting into the episode, to say the least.
“Most game changing episode of Survivor… and it’s stopped because a trump announcement,” one X user griped.
“Guys the presidential address is interrupting survivor. This is the worst thing trump has ever done,” another comment reads.
“Get Trump off my screen im tryna watch survivor booooo … boooo,” another commenter wrote, adding thumbs down emojis.
Another added, “Trump interrupting survivor to say we’re close to winning this war on April Fools day is crazy.”
A more succinct comment reads, “Trump interrupting survivor is f—king rude.”
Yet another enraged message reads, “PUT SURVIVOR BACK ON I DO NOT GIVE A F—K ABOUT TRUMP OR HIS BULLS—T.”
CBS confirmed in a statement that the episode would resume immediately after the speech for Eastern and Central viewers.
“CBS News will air a Special Report for President Donald J Trump’s live primetime address to the nation from the White House, Wednesday, April 1, at 9 p.m., ET. CBS News’ Tony Dokoupil will anchor the coverage,” the statement read.
“The special two-hour ‘Survivor’ episode (starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT) will resume where it left off immediately following the president’s address for Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers on the CBS Television Network and air in its entirety.”
“Check your local listings for more details,” the statement concluded.
This isn’t the first time a landmark episode of the competition series has been interrupted, however.
During the Season 49 finale last December, the show similarly had to pause due to a presidential address.
After about 20 minutes in, the episode picked up where it left off, and viewers watched the crowning of Savannah Louie as the reigning Sole Survivor.
The interruption also garnered an angry reaction from fans who were tuned in to watch the highly anticipated season finale.
“Survivor” Reddit groups were flooded with strongly-worded messages aimed at Trump.
“F—king Trump, man. You gotta be kidding. Of all nights to do this!” one user wrote at the time, per the Daily Mail.
“This administration finds new ways to ruin my day every time I wake up to be honest,” another added.
Page Six has reached out to CBS for additional comment.
