Carl Radke turns to books when he’s looking for inspiration.
“I like to read nonfiction books, memoirs, autobiography, wellness and self-help books,” the “Summer House” star — whose new book “Cake Eater” is on sale now — tells Page Six.
A longtime book lover, Radke says his love for reading was heavily influenced by his family.
“My grandfather, Carl Radke, loved books and read well into his 70s and 80s. My Mom is also an avid reader and we share books every once in a while,” he says.
In his new memoir, the reality star candidly shares the ups and downs of his sobriety journey and the heartbreaking loss of his brother in 2020.
See below for Radke’s six must-read book recommendations.
“One of the best reads out there — and before it was a book, it started as a commencement speech. It’s all about how small actions build discipline, create strong daily habits, and help you achieve your goals.”
“One of the most important reads for me — especially when I needed inspiration and a real ass-kicking during 2019-2020, the lowest I’ve ever been. David jump-started my journey. The hardback is great, but the best experience is the audiobook: the narrator not only does an incredible job but also interviews David between chapters, creating a really unique listening experience.”
“Elyse is a friend and an incredible talent who deserves all the flowers. Her humor and vulnerability are so needed, and I love how much she pours into her work. She truly cares, and this book makes me feel seen.”
“Therapists have therapists. Crazy concept, right? This book is incredible and such an important part of my journey. Also, Lori is an amazing person and has been so helpful to me with my book!”
“I got this book back in 2010 and loved it, but I never fully processed it. It’s one of those books you can return to again and again – one that flips your thinking and teaches core life principles. Probably the best self-help book of all time.”
“I started following this IG account back in 2019 for daily inspiration and the philosophy, and since then I’ve come to really love Ryan’s work. It’s full of powerful, moving wisdom to help us live happier lives and become the best versions of ourselves.”
