Wildfires are devastating affluent areas of LA and many celebrities have lost their homes.

Multiple wildfires that broke out in Los Angeles, California, have destroyed the homes of film stars and forced many celebrities to evacuate.
Around 2,000 buildings including homes and businesses have been destroyed in the area as firefighters struggle to contain the blazes fuelled by high winds.
Celebrity homes abandoned in Palisades
A fire that broke out in Pacific Palisades, a hillside area which runs along the coast, forced many celebrities to evacuate including Mandy Moore, Mark Hamill, James Woods, Billy Crystal and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Crystal, who is famous for his comedy roles in films like When Harry Met Sally, released a statement on Wednesday about the loss of their Palisades home:
‘Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.’
Jamie Lee Curtis was also forced to abandon her Palisades home due to the fires. On Wednesday she posted on Instagram, ‘It’s a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze.’
Fires destroy celebrity homes in Altadena
Other areas affected by the fires are the Altadena area near Pasadena. Film star Mandy Moore, famous for roles in Chasing Liberty and Licence to Wed in the 2000s, lost her home in the blaze.
In an Instagram post, she talked of the destruction the fires had caused in her neighbourhood, ‘Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favourite restaurants levelled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together. Sending love to all affected.’
Malibu residents like Paris Hilton lose homes
Malibu, an affluent beach city in Los Angeles, home to many celebrities over the years including Leonardo di Caprio and Janet Jackson, has also been devasted by the wildfires
Malibu resident and famous socialite, Paris Hilton, lost her home in the blaze. In an Instagram post, she wrote ‘The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking…This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories.’
