Star Wars: The Acolyte star Manny Jacinto is set to receive a special honor at the upcoming Canadian Screen Awards.

The Canadian actor, also known for roles in The Good Place, Freakier Friday, Top Gun: Maverick and Bad Times at the El Royale, will receive the Radius Award for recognition of global success, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television said on Wednesday.

Other special award recipients include Academy Board of Directors’ Tribute Award going to Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of cinema giant Cineplex, and Denise Robert, the veteran producer of director Denys Arcand’s movies.

Ahead of the Canadian Screen Awards being handed out from May 30 to June 1 in Toronto, the Canadian Academy also said the Changemaker Award will be given to The Porter executive producer and writer Marsha Greene, while the Sustainable Production Award will go to the long-running CBC comedy series This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

The Canadian Academy has yet to unveil the format for this year’s national film and TV awards, but in recent years the industry prize giving has capped off with a TV special on the CBC.

“This year’s Special Award recipients have left an enduring impact on both the big and small screens, shaping Canadian storytelling with their creativity, innovation, and commitment,” Tammy Frick, CEO of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, said in a statement. “These honorees represent the incredible talent and strength of our homegrown creative community, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards.”

Past special award recipients for Canada’s film and TV awards include Ryan Reynolds, Simu Liu and Denis Villeneuve.
