 She is a famous actress who starred in several blockbuster films throughout the 1970s and 80s.

In the 1990s she was renowned for her work earnings three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for ER and The X-Files.

She has continued her nearly seven decade career as her most recent role was as a supporting character on Netflix comedy series A Man On The Inside.

As a child actress she starred in 1963 Alfred Hitchcock classic The Birds.

Now she has been seen on a very rare outing in Los Angeles wearing a rather comfortable ensemble.

The 75-year-old British-born American actress – who is best known for her work starring alongside Sigourney Weaver in 1979 flick Alien – was seen on a rare outing in Southern California earlier this month.

She donned a black jacket over striped top, black leggings, and comfy moccasins.

Her silver hair was put in an updo as she showcased her natural and evergreen looks by going make-up free.

Veronica is best known for her work starring as  Lambert in the aforementioned film Alien who was navigator of commercial space tug Nostromo which is returning to earth.

She had originally read for the role of Ripley – which was famously taken by Weaver – and originally disliked her character’s emotional weakness but took the role anyway.

Veronica said of the decision: ‘They convinced me that I was the audience’s fears; I was a reflection of what the audience is feeling.’ 

The move paid off as she eventually won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress for the performance as the film was both a critical and commercial success earning a box office of $188million.

Veronica was born on April 20, 1949 in Bristol, England before growing up in Los Angeles as her family immigrated to the US shortly after the birth of her younger sister Angela Cartwright who is also an actress.

She began her career as a child actress as she made her debut in 1958 film In Love And War.

 Her first signature role came in 1963’s The Birds which was produced and directed by iconic filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock.

The film focused on around series of sudden and unexplained violent bird attacks on the people of Bodega Bay, California, over the course of a few days as she portrayed the daughter to Jessica Tandy and Rod Taylor’s characters named Cathy Brenner.

Veronica then first tasted commercial success as an adult in 1978 sci-fi horror film Invasion Of The Body Snatchers in 1978.

Her career hit even more highs in the 1980s as she starred in 1983 historical epic The Right Stuff followed by 1987’s The Witches Of Eastwick.

She went on to have a successful run on television as well as she earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in the 1990s.

One nomination was for her role on George Clooney led drama ER while the other two were for The X-Files alongside David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. 

Since then she has maintained a solid career with her latest role being as Beverly Bankl – which is a recurring role on 2024’s A Man On The Inside – starring Ted Danson, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, and Stephanie Beatriz.
