In a shocking update, SS Rajamouli has been accused of an alleged harassment by one of his longtime friends. The man, named Uppalapati Srinivasa Rao, who is a producer, claimed that Rajamouli has been his friend since the 90s. Recently, Rao posted a video stating that the RRR director harassed him over a woman and mentioned that he was contemplating suicide.
As reported by Hindustan Times, in a video posted by Srinivasa Rao, he said, “India’s number one director, SS Rajamouli, and Rama Rajamouli are the reason for my suicide. You might think I am doing this for publicity, but this is my final letter. Everyone from MM Keeravaani to Chandrasekhar Yeleti and Hanu Raghavapudi knows how close I have been to Rajamouli for years now. I never thought a woman could come between us.”
In the video, Srinivasa also alleged that he and Rajamouli were involved in a “triangle love story” with a woman, similar to the plot of Sukumar’s film Arya 2. Further, accusing SS Rajamouli, Rao stated, “He asked me to sacrifice my love for her, and while I didn’t agree at first, I did later on. He believed I’d told people about this, and he began torturing me after we got into an argument. We worked together till Yamadonga (2007), but he ruined my life after that. He tortured me so much since he became a big shot. I am 55 years old and have lived a single life.”
So far, the Baahubali director has not shared any reaction to Rao’s shocking claims. Meanwhile, on the work front, the director’s last movie was RRR, which stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt. His next will be another pan-India film with Priyanka Chopra in the leading role. The details about his next movie are under wraps.
