Slipknot has officially kicked Sid Wilson out.
The heavy metal band addressed firing the DJ and keyboardist in a statement shared on the official Instagram account for their music festival, Knotfest, Friday.
“Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” the message reads. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Interestingly enough, the band previously deleted their Instagram post announcing he was no longer with Slipknot.
News that Wilson, 49, was fired after nearly 30 years with the band was first reported by TMZ earlier this month.
The outlet reported that the ousting was a long time coming and that Wilson’s bandmates “had enough” of his behavior towards them.
Wilson has not commented on his departure from Slipknot. He joined the band in 1998 as their ninth member, shortly before the release of their self-titled debut album in 1999, and he remained with the group for 28 years.
The shocking firing came just months after news broke that he and his now ex-fiancée, Kelly Osbourne, called off their engagement. The couple dated for four years and share a 3-year-old son, Sidney.
Osbourne, 41, took a vicious public swipe at Wilson days after he was fired in an Instagram Story she later deleted.
“Wake the f–k up and take some responsibility I will not take your s–t anymore! I’m done,” she heatedly wrote.
“I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. Let me heal. I can’t protect you from yourself anymore,” she continued.
In another post, she added, “Also while I’m at it can I have my dogs back and all my possessions. Oh yeah and maybe some child support?”
An insider recently told People about the exes’ messy split, “She just doesn’t want the drama in her life right now. Sid has a lot he needs to work through on his own.”
