Inline skaters now have a new space to enjoy their hobby as Singapore’s first neighbourhood inline skating rink has just opened at Bukit Panjang.
The new facility was announced by Zhenghua MP Edward Chia in social media posts on Sunday (Aug 23), where he described it as “a new space” for the community “to move, learn, skate and have fun together”.
“Big thanks to the Sport Singapore team, Holland Bukit Panjang Town Council and everyone who worked with us to bring the Senja Inline Skating Rink to life,” he added.
In the video, the MP can be seen skating along the new rink, before the camera turned to show others using the rink.
Some were skating freely, while others demonstrated their freestyle slalom skating skills.
The new rink comes after the MP announced the opening of the first phase of a Sports in Precinct initiative in Senja this May.
It consists Senja Go Trail and Senja Warrior Course, which are designed to help families in the area “move, play, explore and spend time together”.
“Whether it is a morning walk, an after-school challenge, or a weekend family adventure, this is another step in making our neighbourhood more active, fun and connected,” he wrote then.
