Shondaland is promoting three of its executives as the company continues to expand its footprint. Alyssa Schimel, Catherine Yan Lustro and Seth Plattner will all take on expanded roles in their new positions at the company founded by Shonda Rhimes.

Schimel, currently vp marketing and communications, will move into the newly created role of vp global content marketing, communications and talent strategy. She will continue to oversee comms and marketing for all of Shondaland’s content while also taking on strategic planning for external talent associated with Shondaland projects, as well as that for the company’s executive ranks.

Yan Lustro has been named senior director for global merchandising strategy and experiences, expanding her role within the company. She’ll develop and manage strategy for consumer products related to Shondaland IP and collaborate with partners on live experiences related to the company’s content.

Shondaland is also launching a new digital media division that will include an audiovisual production team and take on oversight of digital marketing, social media and the Shondaland website. Plattner will be senior director of digital engagement and content strategy, charged with developing and executing strategies as the brand looks to build engagement on YouTube and other platforms.

“These new and expanded roles are a reflection of continued growth for Shondaland as our audience becomes more and more global,” said Shondaland co-presidents Sandie Bailey and Chris DiIorio.  “Alyssa, Catherine and Seth have played a key role in the success of their respective divisions, and we are excited for them to step into these new positions as we strive to give our audiences more.”
