She was once Melbourne’s most colourful socialites — the third wife of a multimillionaire ex-convict businessman almost three times her age after they wed in a Melbourne registry office mere hours before her Australian travel visa expired.
She was also a former call girl at the centre of an FBI corruption case who claimed she was paid $1,500 for a mile-high sex romp with NYPD officers.
She was called every name under the sun, with ‘Gold digger’ at the top of that list.
Today, New-York based aspiring rapper Gabi Grecko still commands a large online audience.
But if the Miami-born model turned eyebrow-raising socialite turned divorcee and then penniless ‘widower’ were to hit the streets of Melbourne today, it’s doubtful anyone from her old life would recognise Geoffrey Edelsten’s ex.
Gabi, 35, looks very much a changed woman in photos shared to her Instagram account on Thursday, as well as in recent weeks.

Previously the US model had long flowing locks that were canary blonde, before rocking streaked red and orange hair and then a more demure ash blonde.
She also sports one colourful chest tattoo, which traces the outline of her enhanced breasts with a set of stars.
Now, Gabi’s entire upper half appears to be inked.
She has patchwork sleeve tattoos on both arms, as well as tattoos covering both breasts, her chest and her sternum and stomach, in addition to the faded tattoo on the left side of her face.
She also sports an eyebrow piercing and freshly plumped up lips.
The 35-year-old appears to have shaved her eyebrows off, instead drawing them on with pencil.
In new photos uploaded on Thursday, the ex socialite attached a pink braided wig to her head of shaved blonde hair as she posed for a series of selfies in what appears to be a small apartment.
She applied a beauty filter to her face and blurred out the background of her surrounds to film herself striking sultry poses for her Stories.
Wearing a V-neck black singlet and pants, she accessorised her ensemble with a pink cross-over bag and costume jewelry as she sat on the curb outside.

Gabi poses with her engagement ring after Geoffrey Edelstein proposed at the Emirates Marquee on Melbourne Cup Day at Flemington Racecourse on November 4, 2014
A small dog broke the filtered background behind her as she leaned in and made eyes at the camera, posing against a pile of cardboard boxes and an old furniture cushion.
These days, Gabi only appears to be modelling on her Instagram Stories and it is unclear what she does for work.
She still describes herself as a rapper under the stage name ‘Gabi Glitter’ on Instagram, although she hasn’t updated her YouTube channel in five years.
Far from the halycon days of private jets, helicopters and galas with her late ex-husband, Grecko now sports a short hairdo which she changes up with wigs instead of at a pricey salon.
She first met the former doctor on a dating app in 2014.
She boarded a flight from New York a week later and married the businessman in June, 2015.
They tied the knot when Grecko was 26 and Edelston was 72, an age difference of 46 years.
However, the marriage was short-lived, with the couple splitting a few months later.
Grecko was briefly hospitalised for ‘stress’ in July 2014, amid rumours that she had caught Edelsten text messaging other women.

For the last three years of Edelsten’s life, the estranged couple lived in different countries, with Edelsten based in Australia while Grecko resided in New York City
In 2017, they had some ‘frank discussions’ about Edelsten’s ‘abusive behaviour’ towards her and reconciled, Grecko stated in an affidavit contesting his will, before separating finally in 2019.

US-based Grecko, real name Gabriella Rose Curtis, claimed she was still legally married to him when he died.
‘I had always considered myself married to Geoffrey,’ she said, as she explained she was served divorce papers electronically in September 2019 to two email accounts she hadn’t used in years.
At the peak of his success, Edelsten owned the Sydney Swans AFL football club, travelled in helicopters and led an extravagant lifestyle.
However, his final will revealed the dire financial circumstances the notorious womaniser was in before his death.
Edelsten died in June 2021 aged 78 leaving behind an estate valued at just over $1 million.
He bequeathed his only child, his son, Matthew Beard, $50,000 and left his ex-wives Brynne Edelsten and Gabi Grecko (aka Gabriella Curtis) not a single cent.
Both contested the will, but were unsuccessful.
Grecko’s decision to contest her ex-husband’s came as a surprise as in July 2021 she told A Current Affair she wouldn’t be making a claim because Edelsten was broke.
‘It’s very like comedy, when people like talk about, like, me inheriting money. I’m like, no. More like I’m inheriting millions of dollars of debt,’ she said.
‘I was still married to him when he died, and I’m his widow. And I’ll produce documents if needed, but I don’t want anything, and I’ve made that clear.’
The Allied Medical Group founder died a virtual pauper, despite his desperate attempts to portray an image of extreme wealth in his final years.
