Sharon Stone slammed the “terrible dialogue” in her 1993 film “Sliver,” shortly after her former co-star Billy Baldwin declared he’ll “never” work with her again.
The actress reflected on “Sliver” in a new interview with Variety, where she read some of her famous lines and had to guess which movie it came from.
“You’ve been spending too much time with your vibrator,” the quote read, as Sharon admitted, “God, I don’t remember saying that. Or thinking that.”
The 68-year-old initially guessed the line came from her 1998 sci-fi movie “Sphere,” before her memory clicked in.
“No, not ‘Sphere.’ The one, the name of the building. Oh! ‘Sliver,’” she said.
Stone continued, “I made a rule that no one was allowed to even say that word for years. And that’s why, because, what terrible dialogue. Clearly written by a man without enough to do.”
“Sliver” was written by Joe Eszterhas, whom Stone previously worked with on her breakout film, the 1992 erotic thriller “Basic Instinct.”
In “Sliver,” Stone plays a book editor who moves into a luxury Manhattan building and becomes romantically involved with a mysterious tenant, played by Baldwin, 63.
The film, based on Ira Levin’s novel of the same name, was critically panned.
However, Stone’s career rebounded when she starred in Martin Scorsese’s “Casino” just two years later, earning her first — and still only — Oscar nomination.
Baldwin also spoke about “Sliver” during a recent interview, claiming there was “tension” between himself and Stone on the set.
“We got along pretty well the first couple weeks,” he recalled on Tuesday’s episode of the “Lisa Guerrero Unleashed” podcast. “And then she wouldn’t say ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’ to me for the next three months.”
Baldwin alleged that he felt so uncomfortable that he scheduled a meeting with producers and begged them to not make him kiss Stone in the film’s final love scene.
Elsewhere in the interview, Baldwin called out Stone for “badmouth[ing]” his acting skills on “Larry King Live” the week of the premiere.
He made additional claims about Stone, from her allegedly having “a shrine to [him] in her trailer,” complete with “candles and pictures” to her walking on crutches for days after he stepped on her with a socked foot mid-scene.
However, Baldwin insisted on the podcast that he’d “love to bury the hatchet” with Stone, and shared his hopes that he could “shake her hand” or “give her a hug.”
