Shane Warne’s daughter Brooke reveals she’s postponing getting married to her long-term boyfriend because she’s still recovering from the grief of losing her dad three years ago.

The Australian cricketer died of a sudden heart attack while on holiday in Thailand at the age of 52, leaving behind three children, Brooke, 27, Jackson, 25 and Summer, 22.

‘Obviously Alex and I, one day, we’re going to get married – hopefully – and live a happy life as everyone says’, Brooke said on Sunday.

‘But we’ve had the hardest three years to go through as a family and I have no interest in getting married any time soon.’

Brooke has been dating Alex Heath for five years, and he helped support her when the late great cricketer died in 2022.

‘Me and Alex and have been together for five and a half years but nothing’s going to change when we get married and it’s been such a full-on three years and such a sad three years for my family to have to go through,’ she added.

‘I don’t just want to now rush into getting married because we’re supposed to at 28 and all this sort of stuff.’

Speaking on her YouTube channel, Brooke adds: ‘Grief never goes away – it’s something you live with for the rest of your life – but I also want to heal a little bit more, instead of rushing into something else and going from one thing to the other.

‘Just another distraction, another big life thing. I’ve got career work that I want to do, and and yes, I can do that when I’m married but I don’t want to be focused on planning a wedding at the moment. I want to focus on my YouTube channel.

‘Alex has just started his own business – we’ve got lots going on. So I’m not getting married any time soon.’

She continued: ‘You have your whole life to be married, you have your whole life to do all these things – have kids and do all this stuff. I think there’s such a big pressure on young people getting married so early.

‘I still think I’m pretty young. I’m only 27, turning 28 in June, and I just feel there’s so much pressure on everyone to get engaged.

‘I’m like, it’s amazing that all these people are getting engaged – it’s so exciting and so happy but it’s actually annoying when everyone’s like, “When are you getting engaged?”

‘I think when people get married, that’s the time they’re supposed to get married, and I just want to enjoy my time and be healing.’
