Selena Gomez had a surprise reunion with her onscreen dad David DeLuise from the beloved Disney Channel sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place.
On Friday, DeLuise took to Instagram to share a photo series posing with Gomez, 33, which she later reposted to her Instagram Story.
Later, Gomez continued her Instagram Story streak by sharing 2009 throwback photos of her hanging out with their former Wizards of Waverly Place costars Jennifer Stone and David Henrie.
The 33-year-old actress, who has been enjoying newlywed life with husband Benny Blanco, famously starred as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel show while DeLuise played Alex’s father Jerry Russo.
Wizards of Waverly Place ran for four seasons from 2007 until the series wrapped in 2012.
Stone, who starred as Alex’s best friend Harper, was also seen in one of the group photos as she and DeLuise host a Wizards of Waverly Place rewatch podcast aptly titled: Wizards of Waverly Pod.

DeLuise, 54, and Stone, 32, appeared in the follow-up Wizards of Waverly Place movies but not the most recent spinoff series.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place starred Gomez and Henrie, her onscreen brother, as well as Disney newcomers playing their respective kids and each others’s cousins.
The Disney sequel series premiered in October 2024 and aired for two seasons, with the latest episode airing in September 2025.
However, it appears that Henrie was not present at their get-together nor was their onscreen mom Maria Canals-Barrera or other onscreen sibling Jake T. Austin.
Shannon Moore, who was a set costumer on the show, also shared a post, thanking Stone for ‘hosting’ and referred to Gomez and the group as her ‘forever family.’
‘Such a joyful night full of laughter, love, and the kind of fun that reminds you how good it feels to reconnect with family! The best reunion ever,’ DeLuise wrote in his caption.
In addition to Gomez, Stone and Moore, he also tagged Peter Murrieta, the head writer and show-runner for the first three seasons, as well as hair stylist Roxanne Baker-Sarver.

Gomez and Henrie were the only original cast members who returned for the sequel spinoff series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which aired for two seasons with the latest episode premiering last fall.
Late last year, Gomez reflected on filming the show as a teenager up until its conclusion when she was 19.
She also opened up about why she wanted to return for the long-awaited sequel, though several of her cast members would not be included.
In an interview for her September 2025 Allure cover, she told the outlet: ‘I was in these crucial years of my brain developing.
‘And all of those people that are on the show with us have grown and evolved, and I want them to be in my life. I think that’s why I always wanted to go back.’
Afterwards, Gomez also posted several throwback photos from filming the show in 2009. She shared a photo of her and Stone playing around in a dressing room. The singer-actress also posted a throwback photo of her with onscreen brother David Henrie even though he did not appear to be present at their reunion
Their onscreen mom Maria Canals-Barrera and youngest sibling Jake T. Austin in the show also seemingly did not attend the casual reunion. They previously filmed four seasons together with the Disney series wrapping in 2012
Though she only appears in the reboot in a guest star capacity, she also serves as an executive producer and was excited to return to the Wizards universe.
‘I genuinely feel like I owe a big part of my life to that show,’ she said at the time. ‘It’s a home. It’s safe.
She explained that she also accepted the project with the encouragement of her younger half-sister, 12-year-old Gracie Elliot Teefey.
Their mom Mandy Teefey shares the preteen with Gomez’s stepdad Brian Teefey.
‘And my sister just gets a kick out of it, so half the reason I’m doing it is for her,’ Gomez said.
