Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones has hinted she is set to quit a key role the BBC show after nine years.
The dancer, 35, joined the series in 2016 and won with former Holby City actor Joseph McFadden, but she has also found herself engulfed in two scandals.
She was first caught kissing celeb partner Seann Walsh, 39, in 2018, ending her marriage to fellow pro Neil Jones, before being paired last year with Wynne Evans, 53, who was axed from the live tour for his ‘inappropriate actions’.
Dropping a hint she could be moving on to new pastures, Katya said in an Instagram Q&A: ‘Actually 2025 is actually looking very exciting! Quite a few projects and jobs that I’ve been working on for a while.’
Though she is open to exploring her options outside of Strictly, she hinted she could be open to remaining on the show as a judge in a huge shake-up.
‘Strictly is what has allowed me to have this platform, and I will continue doing it as long as I have the same passion for it,’ she went on.
Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones has reportledy hinted she is set to quit the BBC show after nine years
According to reports Katya hinted at changes ahead while discussing her plans for 2025 and even suggested she could join the show’s judging panel (pictured with Wynne Evans)
‘But we are growing and evolving – and not getting any younger. So it is important to keep looking ahead and create a future for myself doing things I love.’
‘We might get to see soon what kind of judge I could be,’ she teased.
MailOnline have contacted Katya’s reps for comment.
Katya was coupled up with Wynne Evans on the most recent series of the show, who withdrew from the live tour after making a vile comment aimed at Janette Manrara.
The tenor known for the Go Compare ads and a BBC radio presenter – was recorded crudely suggesting a three-way sex session with Janette, using the hugely demeaning term ‘spit roast’.
His gross comment came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour and swiftly earned a rebuke from BBC bosses who told him: ‘We will not tolerate such behaviour.’
Katya and Wynne also came under fire after an awkward exchange that saw Katya move Wynne’s his hand away from her waist, before snubbing a high five.
Attempting to defuse the row, the pair said they were ‘just messing around’ and that it was a ‘very silly inside joke’.

Most notably, Katya was caught kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh when they were in a couple on the show in 2018, while she was married to fellow professional dancer Neil Jones
The incident caused such concern among BBC top brass, who had spent months firefighting accusations of misconduct on previous series, that a welfare investigation was conducted.
In January, it was reported that Katya is said to be ‘devastated’ by the way Wynne has been dropped by Strictly in the wake of his sexual-jibe scandal – with fears she will now quit.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Katya is really upset about what has happened and feel like it’s all been blown out of proportion.
‘She was shocked that bosses hauled Wynne in and feels like they have been thrown under the bus.
‘Her friends are worried this is making her fall out of love with the show and wonder if she will do it again next year. There is only so much drama she can take.’
Her Strictly experience has been affected by several headline-hitting rumours and sources have said there are concerns she will no longer shoulder the strain.

A few series later, there were rumours of a feud between Katya and her 2022 partner Tony Adams, as sources said she was ‘working him too hard’ in rehearsals and it was causing tension.

The rumours of Katya ‘quitting’ comes just after she seemingly took a swipe at scandal plagued former partner Wynne as she marked the end of the show’s live tour.
The dancer shared a slew of snaps including one of host Janette , 41, backstage, but failed to even mention the opera singer.
Taking to Instagram the pro shared behind the scenes snaps with her fellow co-stars as she joked around before taking to the dancefloor.
She captioned the post: ‘The last of the Strictly Tour 2025. I hope you all enjoyed it.’
